Corsair XMS4400 DDR Review
Written by Marcin W. | Date: 2.05.2004 | Manufacturer: Corsair
As new chipsets by Intel rolled out in 2003, memory speeds have rapidly increased, and memory bandwidth doubled. Intel chipsets, the 865PE Springdale and 875PE Canterwood, have shown how effectively memory speed can be used. Memory speed is not everything in some systems, as memory timings are just as important. The problem is, there are no suppliers producing high speed/low latency chips at all on the market, so all high speed memory out now (PC4000 and up), have very high latency timings. For years, Corsair Micro, has been releasing XMS line of memory geared towards the most serious of overclockers, and today we look at their XMS PC4400-TwinX1024, and see how well a rated 275MHz (550DDR) does.
