Aspire X-Infinity Review

Here's an overall shot of the case. Our testing sample was black. As we can see, the X-Infinity has the usual side window, but also contains an acrylic door to cover your drives. Personally, I'm not a fan of an acrylic door-- it provides the inconvenience of a door, but doesn't cover your ugly white/beige drives. I don't see the point in it, but it can be removed.

One of the nice features about this case is the temperature gauge in the front. This shows any temperature, in Fahrenheit, that is read from the built in temperature probe. This may be particularly useful for monitoring case temperature or that of a hard disk drive. You probably won't want to install this sensor on your CPU, since it'd make using the removable mobo tray impossible.

As we can see, the door has X-Infinity engraved into it. You'll see some cool light-up action on our Powered On page.

Here is a shot with that door opened up. Note the shiny black plastic finish on the drive bay covers.

Here is a close-up on the indicator lights shown at the top of the case. They remind me of headlights, and they sure do not look bad at all. In fact, they add a high-tech look to the case.

At the top of the case, we see the placement of the USB and audio inputs. This is an interesting place to put them...it will be a hindrance to some and a convenience to others, depending on the placement of your case. We saw Thermaltake do this as well with the Xaser V Damier.

Also note the Power (larger) and Reset (smaller) buttons at the top. This case does circumvent the one design flaw with many cases-- the ease of accidentally pressing the Reset button. Nice job, Aspire!

The 80mm fan located at the top comes with an attractive silver fan grill, shown here. The included fan is a blue LED fan, which is not manufactured by Antec

This is the side of the case. We can get a good look inside the case from here, but we're going to open it up even more in a second to show you the details of the interior.

Note the same silver fan grill and blue LED fan which is used as a side blowhole. This is positioned reasonably close to where the CPU is on most motherboards. This should provide for an extra boost of cooling, which is great news for you temp freaks.

Now that we've shown you the exterior of the case, let's get a good look at the inside (what really counts!).
