Geil Ultra PC3200 Dual Channel Kit Review
Written by Justin B. | Date: 4.24.2004 | Manufacturer: Geil
Quality memory modules are a necessary component of any system. Whether it's a web-surfing box for Mom, or a high-end workstation for the business, low-quality memory (and not having enough memory) can cause many system problems such as instability or slow-downs.

As systems evolve, users are beginning to see the need for more than 512MB of memory, the reason why more and more gaming PCs include 1GB or more of memory. If you're considering replacing that archaic memory with something more modern and up-to-the-task, take a look at Geil's PC3200 1GB kit. That's what we have on the review table for you all today, an attractive, heatspreader-covered, 1GB kit of DDR memory, certified to run at tight 2-6-3-3 timings. Today we'll be going in depth with this memory and showing you if its right for you.

The Geil 1GB PC3200 memory kit comes packaged in this attractive blue plastic box, with an interesting slide-off cover. Geil sure did put some nice-looking design into their container, but let's slide it open and get to the good stuff.

Here's the Geil sticks unwrapped and out of the container. The gold heatspreader is fully reflective. Note the temperature indicator square to the left of the memory-- nice inclusion.

The back side of this memory is bare, so as to give users a quick indication of which side goes in which direction on your motherboard.
