NZXT Guardian Case Review

When I first looked at the case I thought it resembled some type of robot or something. I'm sure that's the impression everyone gets. The whole case gives you a robotic feel. A nice little door that hides the drive bays makes the case very clean looking.

While the case is almost all steel, the front is plastic. Many computer enthusiasts hate the idea of plastic on a case, but on this case it provides for a tool free, and neat looking face.

The case itself weighs 7.1 Kgs (around 15 lbs). Not that heavy for a case that is made from mostly steel.

Here we see the drive bays. There are 5 5.25" drive bays and 2 3.5" drive bays. People may ask why so many 5.25" drive bays? Well there are many cooling solutions that fit in that bay, so the more the merrier.

Down near the bottom there are two little hidden compartments that hide 2 USB ports and 1 speaker/headphone jack and 1 microphone jack. Always good to have USB ports in the front and the headphone and microphone jack is also great to have out front.

The side panel is very uniquely designed with a neat looking side window. There is also an 80mm fan on the side with a specially designed grill. The whole side continues along with the robotic theme this case gives.

Now the back of the case is pretty standard. Notice the thumb screws, a very nice feature for any case. The other side panel is pretty basic. Comes off easily by removing the thumb screws.
