ATI has been known for piecing together a nice solid driver package, so we're taking the very latest Catalyst 4.8 drivers for a spin this time around. Strictly in terms of the control panel, they are strikingly similar to the previous Catalysts that we have tested, and if you have an ATI videocard, you'll be able to see the same features. Let's take a quick look though:
To sum up what all of these tabs mean:
Display: Lets you switch output sources.
SMARTGART: Controls AGP settings.
3D: Lets you adjust 3D video settings, like anti-aliasing, texture quality, etc.
VPU Recover: Read the description on the screenshot
Color: Adjusts color settings, and brightness, contrast, etc.
Options: Various options for ATI Catalyst drivers.
Rotation: Useful for LCD screens that swivel. Rotates the screen display.
Overlay: Adjusts video overlay settings, as shown.
This card does not feature the Overdrive settings found on higher end ATI cards-- simply put, on a budget card, most people wouldn't be overclocking it anyway.
