PQI Turbo Memory PC4000 Review
Written by Justin B. | Date: 1.08.2005 | Manufacturer: PQI
Testing
Today I'll be testing this memory in my hot new Athlon 64 combo-- a DFI Lanparty UT with Athlon 64 3200+ CPU. It's the new FastLaneHW high-performance testing platform, so we're now able to review Athlon 64 equipment. Finally!

Here's the results we obtained at various timings:

I was very impressed with this RAM's performance at CAS 2.5-- we attained speed over 280Mhz. Not bad! I didn't approach even close to this with my 3200XL paired with my Lanparty UT. I didn't see a whole lot of gain with CAS 3 settings, so I'd recommend staying away from CAS3.

With our CAS2 setting, I ran into a little problem. The RAS to CAS Delay and RAS Precharge (those are the two middle timings), I was unable to set these to 2 without the system crashing. Therefore, I had to bump them up to 3, something that I'm not used to doing with a CAS2 setting. Our Geil sticks exhibited the same issue, but I have not had this issue with other TCCD sticks like Corsair 3200XL (but then again, I haven't had those running at 281Mhz either).
