The Board

The layout of the KT880 Dragon 2 was quite well planned out by Soyo. There is ample room around the socket for installation of larger heatsinks, and having the IDE ports run vertical rather than horizontal was a very good touch by Soyo. My only gripe with the layout is the location of the ATX power connector. It would be better placed in the upper corner of the board above the memory slots in order to aid with routing the wiring and so that the wires do not have to cross over the board.

Soyo chose to go with a very minimalistic I/O port area, and I like it. They have reduced it to the PS/2 ports, four USP ports, the gigabit LAN, and the audio connections. The old and outdated prallel and serial ports are no longer there. However, if you are still one of those people who uses either of them, Soyo has included a bracket with one parallel port and one serial port that goes into an empty PCI slot.
