Hyperkore Hyper Kolor Etching Review

The new symbol of quality and innovation!

I've come to regard the installation of a laser-etched window almost a requirement when I build a new computer. A few years back when I first started modding computer cases I would order a standard laser-etched window that had an image I liked. You know, something like a battle scene or maybe a character from your favorite movie. But times have changed, and we must change with them. Now I order laser-etched windows with my own custom images, and in sizes that aren't all that typical. I also look for something different - something to set my new case apart from the crowd.

This is the place where Hyperkore comes into the picture. Hyperkore has been producing standard and custom laser-etched windows for a few years now. Recently they added a line of black and white (as in a black and white photograph) laser-etched windows called the Blackout Series. These were pretty sweet because they looked just like you painted a picture onto your window. You had to be creative with placement of your case though, as light does not show through these windows and you therefore need a light source pointed at the window to appreciate the image. How did they make this type of window? We may never know, but I bet you won't be able to replicate this at home.

Today we are going to review the latest advancement in laser-etched window technology. Hyperkore has now introduced a new Hyper Kolor laser-etched window that introduces coloring to the Blackout Series. The new Hyper Kolor Series is a big step forward in style and it's something that just might move your case mod to the front of the line. Tommy over at Hyperkore sent me a review sample (figures 1 and 2) sized to my specifications. The image is an AMD logo, and it's small size is destined to become a sort of case badge on a new computer I am building for my oldest son.

Figure 2 Sure it's small, but just check out those colors!

Figure 3 So just where might I install this Hyper Kolor laser-etched window? Any ideas?

But don't jump to the next page yet, because I want you to read what Hyperkore says about their new Hyper Kolor laser-etched windows:

Hyper Kolor Etchings

The Next Generation of Computer Modding is HERE!

To most pc manufacturers the look of a system is an after thought. At HyperKore, style is on the front line along with cutting edge components. We are always searching for new ways to make our stunningly unique systems more personal and stylish, while seeking newer and better mods.

First we brought you the ONLY systems with Laser Etched Windows. We could have stopped there...but we didn't! We took our windows a step further with the introduction of the Blackout Series (patent pending) etchings which allowed us to actually duplicate ANY image with stunning photorealistic quality...literally looking like a Black and White photograph!

And now, HyperKore is proud to introduce yet another ground breaking development in custom pc personalization... The Hyper Kolor Series (patent pending) Etchings!

What is Hyper Kolor?

Hyper Kolor is a "top secret" process that was carefully developed in the last few months here at HyperKore, that allows us to introduce COLORS into the Blackout process. Much like the Blackout v.2 etchings, Hyper Kolor etchings allow NO light to pass thought the window so there is no need for cathodes or LEDs.

Why Hyper Kolor?

Well just look at them!!! The Hyper Kolor process makes the etchings "POP" in a way that just can not be achieved with lights. With up to FOUR (4) colors in each Hyper Kolor etching, you would have to be a lighting master to pull off the same effect (but you would have nasty looking wires all over the interior of you system)! Below you see a comparison of the Batman Logo Blackout Series to a Hyper Kolor Series...

As you can see, there is quite a difference! Hyper Kolor etchings will be available in 1Kolor (1K), 2Kolor (2K), 3Kolor (3K) and 4Kolor (4K) variations.

Ok. We've taken a good look at the Hyperkore Hyper Kolor laser-etching window, so now let's get this baby installed in my new case....
