Earlier this year, we got a glimpse of Logitech's new Revolution line of mice through the VX Revolution. Designed for laptops, the VX was the perfect, albeit pricey, mouse to take on the road. Now, five months later, with our appetites whet by the performance of the VX, we get to take a look at the VX's big brother, the desktop MX Revolution.

It seems that Logitech even went the extra mile in designing the box. The way the MX Revolution is displayed is a bit reminiscent of Apple design. The top flap opens and gives the prospective buyer a look at "The World's Most Advanced Mouse".

Aesthetically, the mouse looks sharp and very professional. It is also is one of the heftiest mice I've held to date. It is at least twice as heavy as the MX 1000 Laser, but that does not mean it is difficult to move. Personally, the weighted feel makes movement feel more natural, and the mouse still glides effortlessly on its polyurethane feet. Buttons wise, the MX Revolution is just like the VX, with a One-Touch Search button, an omni-directional scroll wheel on top, and back-forward buttons on the side. It also has what looks to be a horizontal scroll wheel on the side. On the bottom of the mouse, there is no switch for hyperscroll or regular scroll mode like there is on the VX. There is only a simple on/off switch.

Again, the ergonomic feel of the mouse is superb. Like the VX, the MX Revolution has a rubberized grip on the side of the mouse. This makes handling the mouse extremely comfortable, especially if you happen to do graphic design, gaming, or other mouse intensive applications. With that said, let's put "The World's Most Advanced Mouse" to the test.
