MP3s are one of the hottest items on people's hard drives today, but not everyone spends all of their time at the computer (Well, we hope not...), hence the need for a portable MP3 solution. Portable MP3 players are not in short supply by any means. The player we'll be covering today is the iRock 830 128MB MP3/WMA player.
128MB may seem small compared to the 20 or 30GB available in players such as Archos Jukebox or Apple iPod, but one important thing...the iRock is a solid-state MP3 player, which not only means much longer (30 hours estimated) battery life, but it is much more flexible for active use (such as jogging) since it is completely shock-free-- something that cannot be said about hard disk or especially CD based MP3 players.
If you're looking for an MP3 player that'll store your entire collection, but don't care about active use, size, or battery life, don't even bother reading this review. However, read on if you want a slick, compact little player small enough to fit on a belt clip, to play a couple hours' worth of music as well as any FM radio station.
