Out of the box

The Jet 7 gets its name from the axial fan which is designed to look like a jet engine. This fan is actually pretty good looking. On the front is a small white LED which flashes, much like the lights on a jet do, and a red LED in the rear of the fan which is constantly on. The Jet 7 has an all copper base with aluminum fins.

The base is protected by a sticker so that the base doesn't get damaged before you get a chance to use it. However, when the sticker is removed I noticed that it left a slight amount of residue on the base which means that you should definitely clean the base before using the Jet 7.

Removing the sticker we can see the copper base. The first thing you will see on the base is that it is very rough, to rough in my opinion. I think that Cooler Master should have given better attention to the base of this unit.

Removing the fan you can see the shroud and the 37 aluminum fins.

Installation
Installation of this unit was rather easy. It mounts to the lugs on either side of the socket and does not require any tools to mount it. This means that there is no chance for you to slip with your screwdriver, or other mounting tool, and scratching one or more leads on your motherboard. You can also choose to install the rheostat in either the 3.5" bay bracket or the PCI bracket. The fan uses a 4 pin plug and has a separate RPM monitoring cable.

Now let's test it!
